Privacy information and terms of use

Who is responsible for your data?

María Celeste Fioramonti, trading as ByCelesEnglish, is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Tax identification number (N.I.F.): Y8015177J.

Website: www.bycelesenglish.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@bycelesenglish.com.

What data we use and why

Enquiries: when you contact us, we use your contact details and the information in your message to respond. If your enquiry concerns a purchase or course, this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract. For other enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

Purchases and courses: we use the contact, order, billing and course information needed to process purchases, deliver digital products, organise lessons and provide support. This processing is necessary to perform our contract with you. Accounting and tax records are also processed to meet legal obligations.

Newsletter: we use the email address you submit to send the newsletter, including news, learning resources and offers. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the subscription form with its subscription notice. Reading this policy or browsing the website does not subscribe you.

Website analytics: with your consent, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) processes information about visits and interactions, such as pages viewed, referral sources, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers. We use this information to understand and improve the website.

Consent preferences: we use the necessary byceles_consent cookie to remember and respect your choices. This supports our compliance with consent requirements.

Providing newsletter or analytics consent is optional. You can browse without either. If you do not provide information needed to answer an enquiry or fulfil an order, we may be unable to provide that particular service.

Newsletter and MailerLite

We use MailerLite to manage newsletter subscriptions and send emails. When you subscribe, your email address and subscription information are sent to MailerLite to provide this service.

The website also has an optional MailerLite integration for forms and related measurement. Its automatic scripts only load if you enable Optional MailerLite integration in Cookie preferences. Depending on the features used, these scripts may use cookies or local storage to remember form interactions or measure form activity.

The cookie preference and newsletter subscription are separate choices. Enabling MailerLite in the banner does not subscribe you. Disabling it does not unsubscribe an existing email subscription. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email or by contacting us.

If you submit the newsletter form while optional scripts are blocked, that action still sends the information you entered to MailerLite to request a subscription.

See MailerLite's privacy policy for information about its processing.

Google Analytics and cookie choices

Google provides our optional GA4 analytics service. GA4 only loads after you accept Analytics. If you do not consent, the GA4 integration does not load or send analytics data to Google.

You can withdraw consent through Cookie preferences in the footer: turn off Analytics and select Save preferences. This disables further collection by the Google tag, clears the analytics cookies targeted by our consent controls and reloads the page. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that took place before withdrawal.

Our cookie policy explains the categories, typical cookies, their approximate lifetimes and how to manage them. Google explains its handling of Analytics data in Safeguarding your data and its privacy policy.

Service providers and other recipients

We use service providers to operate the website and deliver the services you request. These include our hosting provider, SEREDNET Works S.L.; MailerLite for newsletters and forms; Google for consent-based analytics; and Payhip and the payment provider selected at checkout, such as PayPal, for purchases and payment processing.

The data involved depends on the service: for example, newsletter subscription details go to MailerLite, analytics information goes to Google after consent, and order and payment information goes to the providers involved in checkout. Providers may act on our instructions or have their own responsibilities for processing, as described in their applicable terms and privacy notices.

Information may also be disclosed where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. When you follow links to social networks or other external websites, their own privacy policies apply to your use of those services.

International processing

Some service providers and their subcontractors may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. The countries and safeguards depend on the provider and service; we do not claim that all data stays in Spain or the EU.

Where a transfer requires safeguards under data protection law, these may include an applicable adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, depending on the recipient and arrangement. You can contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data and how to obtain a copy. The provider notices linked above also explain their international processing.

How long data is kept

Enquiry information is kept for as long as needed to resolve the enquiry and any related follow-up. Order, billing and course records are kept for the service relationship and for any further period required by accounting, tax or other legal obligations, or to handle claims.

Newsletter details are kept while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, limited information may be retained where needed to record and respect your opt-out or demonstrate consent.

Analytics data is subject to the retention settings of the Google Analytics property. Cookie expiry is separate from server-side data retention. We do not give an unverified fixed retention period here; contact us for the current period applicable to your data.

Your rights and choices

Subject to the conditions in data protection law, you can request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Use Cookie preferences for optional website services and the unsubscribe link for newsletter emails, or contact us for help.

Send requests to info@bycelesenglish.com, explaining what you would like us to do. If we reasonably need to verify your identity, we may ask for additional information; please do not send an identity document unless requested. Requests are normally handled free of charge and within one month, subject to the extensions and exceptions allowed by law.

You may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or the competent data protection authority where you live or work.

Updates to this policy

We may update this page when our services or data processing change. Any new use that requires consent will be subject to the appropriate consent request.

Terms of use and purchases

Product and course descriptions, availability and prices are provided on the relevant sales pages. Check the final price, currency, taxes and payment method shown at checkout before placing an order.

For questions about an order, access to a digital product or a refund request, contact info@bycelesenglish.com with your order details.

Any applicable consumer rights remain unaffected. For digital content, loss of the statutory right of withdrawal depends on the legal conditions being met, including your prior express consent to immediate supply and acknowledgement of the loss of that right. Downloading a product does not remove any statutory rights concerning faulty or non-conforming content.
